Story
The story begins with the classic version of the Little Red Riding Tale: the voice of the narrator represents the characters and their intentions, the turn comes to the Terrible Evil Gray Wolf, who unexpectedly declares that he “got sick of it all, all the studios are filming the same thing”. Grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood unexpectedly join the rebellious Wolf, the narrator surrenders and announces a new cartoon that is titled “Red Hot Riding Hood: Something new has been added” (something has been added).
The new version brings the viewer to the setting of a big city of the 30s, the Wolf appears as a ladies' man traveling around on a long sports car, Granny is a socialite living in a penthouse and eager for men, and Little Red Riding Hood is a sex player in a nightclub. The last character who gained the nickname Red among the fans (one of the possible meanings is Red ) later appeared in other Avery films that are not a direct sequel to Hot Red Riding Hood : Swing Shift Cinderella , The Shooting of Dan McGoo , “ Wild and Woolfy , Uncle Tom's Cabaña and Little Rural Riding Hood , also in Tom and Jerry: Sherlock Holmes .
Cultural influences
- The scene of the film “ Who Framed Roger the Rabbit, ” in which Lena Hyena chases Eddie Valiant, is a direct reference to the Grannies after the Wolf.
- The famous nightclub scene in which the Wolf "zvereet" during the performance of Little Red Riding Hood, served as the basis for a similar scene in the feature film "The Mask ." Also in the film there is an episode where the main character watches this scene from a cartoon on TV.
- Both the wife of the rabbit Roger Jessica Rabbit and Tina Carlisle from “Mask” look and move identically to the Ginger dance from “Red Hot Riding Hood”, while they both work as singers in a nightclub.
