Biography
Born October 7, 1834. Father - Alexander Petrovich Kornilov, retired captain of the 2nd rank, a nobleman of the Tver province ( p. Ryasnya , etc.). Mother - Tatiana Alekseevna Zaitsev, daughter of A. D. Zaitsev , Russian general, associate of A. V. Suvorov .
Enrolling in Moscow University before the beginning of the Crimean War , on June 31, 1854, he left the university and entered the service of the cadet officer in the 38th naval crew. In Sevastopol, A. A. Kornilov served under the command of his great-uncle, Admiral V. A. Kornilov . From September 13, 1854 to August 28, 1855, he was part of the Black Sea Fleet and the Sevastopol garrison. He took part in the battle against the Anglo-French troops in the defense of Sevastopol on the battleship "The Twelve Apostles ", and from February 2 to September 1, 1855, served on the steamer "Vladimir".
1857, 1858 and 1859 Kornilov spent sailing around the world on the Plastun clipper and upon returning from the voyage he was appointed flag officer under the commander of the Black Sea Fleet. In 1860 he was appointed to the ranks to strengthen the Marine Scientific Committee. By this time, his participation in the editorial work on the Maritime Collection ; For several years he was an assistant to the editor of this journal and managed its unofficial part. In this journal, they were placed many articles and notes on various topics of maritime affairs. On April 19, 1864, he was promoted to lieutenant and for some time held the position of watch officer on the Vityaz corvette .
In early 1866, Kornilov transferred to the civil service and was counted among the State Supervisors. From the end of 1871, he served in the Privislyan Territory, in 1876 he was appointed manager of the Warsaw Chamber of Control. Then, for a short time, he was in charge of the office of the Odessa mayor, and in 1883 he was seconded to the Warsaw governor-general, in July of the same year he was appointed governor-general of the Warsaw governor and remained in the same post until his death on February 10, 1891.

Wife: Elizaveta Suponёva (1840 - after 1917), the daughter of Nikolai Avdeevich Suponev, who was the great-grandson of Empress Elizaveta Petrovna .
His brother, Alexey Alexandrovich Kornilov , also served in the Black Sea Fleet and took part in the Sinop naval battle and the Sevastopol defense, in 1888 he was promoted to vice-admiral . Sister Catherine - the wife of V. S. Kudrin .
