Cult of Static ( Rus. The cult of Statics ) is the sixth studio album of the metal band Static-X released on Reprise Records on March 17, 2009 . [2] In the first week, 19,000 copies of the album were sold. [3] The album contains a new modified version of the song “Lunatic”, which had previously been released to the soundtrack to the movie comic “ Punisher: Territory of War ”, Dave Mustain [4] from the legendary band Megadeth participated in the new version. Also for this album is the presence of groove metal elements. The album debuted at number 16 on the Billboard Top 200 , [5] this is the band's second achievement since the album Machine . [6]

Singles
The first single, Cult of Static , was a track called Stingwray. MySpace page According to Wayne Static, the musician’s wife was Tera Ray , a lover of fast cars - in particular, Corvette Stingray [7] . In the video for this song, the group plays in an old abandoned house in its different rooms, and at this time Tera Rey destroys the house [8] . It also uses a censored version of the song.

The album is available in a standard release with 11 tracks, a special online release contains the Talk Dirty to Me bonus (Poison cover), Best Buy release includes two more tracks, WFO and Looks That Kill ( Mötley Crüe cover). By downloading an album from iTunes , you get another track, “Still of the Night” ( Whitesnake cover).
