Creativity
Hafecost studies the process of constructing and deconstructing images . Using as a starting point photographs taken by himself or taken from other sources, he uses digital technology to process the image. Hafecost changes the original image on the computer , and then transfers the resulting images to the canvas . For example, it changes the perspective and lighting as in Bowling 2, changes the cropping and simplifies the image , making it almost abstract like in Mobile 1, Carpark 4 or Intro I. In the last series, called Zensur (Censorship), the artist began to cover the image areas with gray or black rectangles (Keller, 2007). Hafekost paints, applying a thin layer of paint, which enhances the similarity of his paintings with projection .
