Lobkowicz ( German: Lobkowitz , Czech. Lobkovicové ) is one of the most distinguished noble families of Bohemia ( Czech Republic ). Known since the XIV century, in the XV century it broke up into several branches, which settled in Roudnice nad Labem , Dolní-Berkovitsa , Kršimice , Melnik and Brussels .

The eldest (Saxon) line of Lobkovitsy comes from the marriage of Mikulas II of Gassishteysky with Sophia from the Zherotin family (descendants of the legendary Oleg Russky ). After the battle of Belogorsk, one of the younger branches received the dignity of the prince of the Holy Roman Empire and took possession of the duchy of Sagan in Silesia .
