History

The building of the village administration in Barzas

The history of the development of the village begins in 1929-1930: it was then that work began on the exploration and mining of the Barzas sapromixites ( barzasites , or sapropelite coals). Along with the construction of the village, named after the Barzas River, a mine, a timber processing enterprise and the social infrastructure of the village were built. But despite the construction of the Kemerovo-Barzas railway and a 70-meter mine, no economic effect was achieved. The mine was closed, and the leadership of the mine was repressed [3] .

On July 1, 1934, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee decided to transform, with the appropriate name, the newly emerged settlement on the Barzas Mines into a working village "Barzas" [4] .

From January 20, 1936 to June 14, 1956, the village was the center of the Barzas district of the West Siberian region , then of the Novosibirsk and Kemerovo regions.

In the middle of the 20th century, there were a large number of correctional camps with OLP in Barzas on the territory of the district.
