Mixed team at the Olympics

The results of athletes from different countries who performed together in doubles or team competitions at the Olympic Games are attributed to a mixed team. At the first three summer Games there was no ban on such associations, and the International Olympic Committee grouped their results together. Now, in all competitions where couples or teams participate, athletes must belong to one country, and therefore this practice has been discontinued.
