A Woman Called Golda is a biographical film dedicated to the fate of Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir (1898-1978). Golda was born in Kiev in 1898, in 1905 she moved with her family to the United States, in 1921 she emigrated to Palestine. At first, the family settled in an agricultural commune (kibbutz), and later moved to Jerusalem. Golda Meir was the first Israeli ambassador to the USSR. In 1969, she became Prime Minister of Israel, and in 1976 was elected Honorary President of the Socialist International .
