Name Origin
Originally mentioned in the census of 1737-1745. as the 1st Pankratevsky Lane, the name is given on Pankratievskaya, now Bolshaya Spasskaya, street, and Pankratievskaya Sloboda, which, in turn, is named after the church of St. Pankraty. Since the middle of the XVIII century it has been called Skornyashny, Skornyakov, Skornyakovsky according to the craftsmen who lived here - furriers (masters of dressing skins for fur and sewing fur products). There is also a version about the connection with the name of the homeowner of the first half of the XVIII century, Filipp Semenovich Skornyakov [1] .
