Viktor Evgenievich Golant ( January 14, 1928 , Leningrad - October 18, 2008 ) - Russian physicist, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences , laureate of the USSR State Prize ( 1983 ), editor-in-chief of the Journal of Technical Physics , member of the editorial board of the journal "Plasma Physics." Biography

He graduated from 155 male high school in the Smolninsky district of Leningrad. Now it is 155 gymnasium of the Central district of St. Petersburg [1] . In 1950 he graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. M. I. Kalinina , then worked in the laboratory of KB "Svetlana", then scientific work at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. Since 1961 he worked at the Leningrad Physical Technical Institute A.F. Ioffe . Since 1970 - Director of the Division of Plasma Physics, Atomic Physics and Astrophysics.

Member of the Presidium of the St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is the author of more than 200 works, including the monographs “Fundamentals of Plasma Physics”, “Microwave Plasma Research Methods” and others.

Rewards

He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor , "Badge of Honor" , "For Services to the Fatherland" IV degree.
