Geography
The village is located 5 km from the village of Davtashen and 7 km from the village of Katnakhpyur .
History
The Andranik squad distinguished itself in the battles for the village during the Turkish-Armenian war . [2]
Attractions
In the village, on a steep cliff of the gorge, the church underwent restoration in 2015. Before the restoration, it had a unique, inimitable appearance, being two-layer: the church of the 10th century was in the 15th century. .covered with new walls. After restoration, the church of the 10th century practically disappeared, replaced by a building made of orange tuff, covered with two slopes. From the walls of the 15th century there are two corner fragments, on the north and south sides.
A bit higher up the gorge is the maturity of Grigor Lusavorich of a modern building .. Around the matur are several cross-stones of venerable age and a revered place in the form of a small hollow-cave.
On the main street there is also a 1994 chapel built, modern architecture.
At the cemetery there is the ruin of an ancient church or chapel, around it are tombstones and khachkars of 10-15 centuries.
Charity
The World Vision International charitable organization implemented the program “Construction of playgrounds in the courtyards of kindergartens of the communities of Ashnak and Arteni of the Aragatsotn region of Armenia”. [3]
