History
Clan Leslie comes from the Hungarian Bartolph, who in the XII century received the barony of Leslie, and it was his son Malcolm who was the first to take the name from his possessions.
Sir Andrew Leslie was one of the signatories of the Arbroath Declaration in 1320, a letter to the Pope of Rome proclaiming Scottish independence. His second son, Alexander, married the daughter and heiress of Earl Ross and through her became the Earl.
