Story
Chicken Tsypa lived happily in his hometown of New Dubki (Eng. Oakey Oaks ) until the sky fell on his head, as it seemed to him. Tsypa raised a panic, but they did not believe him, deciding that it was just an acorn . A year has passed, but everyone still laughs at Tsypa in the city, because of which his father, the former baseball star Ptah Kudah, is terribly worried. Tsypy's only friends are three outcasts from the class where he studies: the strange duck Uti Tfuti, the obese piglet Hryun Manyun and the goldfish of a near mind, Pisces-on-Sushi.
Tsypa goes to the baseball team and accidentally wins an important match. It would seem that everything has settled down, a piece of "fallen sky" has returned. It turned out to be a six-sided piece of camouflage cover of an alien spacecraft that changes color like a chameleon, so that from the side the ship itself (and, accordingly, the torn panel) are not visible.
Friends had to pull out a fish on land from a ship that accidentally flew there and together escape from the evil octopus-like aliens. In the confusion, no one saw a small fluffy orange creature jump out from a spaceship after Tsypa. Tsypa again rings the alarm, wishing to warn everyone about the attack of aliens. Although Tsypa now has witnesses, the locals again do not believe him: the ship is not visible.
Meanwhile, the aliens, having discovered the disappearance of a fluffy, who, as it turned out later, was their son, organize a full-scale invasion of the city of New Dubki, wreaking havoc and destruction, incinerating and atomizing buildings, cars and residents themselves. Ptah Kudah, who finally believed his son (then only a blind man would not have believed), volunteered to help return the alien child to his parents. Tsypa tells Ooty that he always found her insanely attractive and kisses her.
Risking their lives and fighting off metal "octopuses", they climbed to the spire of the town hall, where they were spotted from a spaceship. The incident was safely resolved, and the aliens restored all the destroyed buildings and returned all the sprayed characters in almost pristine condition. As it turned out, aliens annually fly to New Dubki to collect acorns, and the last time they really fell off a masking panel, which at that moment simulated a sky with clouds.
Grateful residents of the town filled the cinema to watch an adventure film shot based on Tsypa’s exploit, in which the director remade all the characters on their opposite: Tsypa turned out to be a high pumped up superhero, Ooty - a chic elegant beauty with magnificent hair, Pisces - a computer genius, and Hruen - a boar - Special Forces, who gave their lives to save the planet.
Issues
The film reveals the relationship between father and son, love in the family, weighed down by public opinion. They are ridiculed by the media, who, in the pursuit of sensation, are not afraid to write and show slander without understanding the situation. The society that labels people because of the events of many years ago is ridiculed, the topic of discrimination is touched.
Creation History
In September 2001, director Mark Dindal (“ Cats Don't Dance ,” “ Emperor’s Adventures ”) developed the idea for a cartoon based on the fairy tale “Chicken Little”. In this version, Tsypa was a girl with a nervous, gloomy and dull character. In the story, she goes to a summer camp to gain self-confidence and restore relations with her father. In the summer camp, she reveals a vile plan aimed at her hometown and invented by her counselor (who was supposed to be voiced by Penn Gillette ). [1] Dindal proposed the idea to the then head of the studio, Michael Eisner, who proposed making the main character a male chicken, because, as Dindal recalled, "if you are a boy and you are short, you are being bullied." [2]
In January 2003, when David Stanton became the new president of the Walt Disney Feature Animation, he suggested that the story needs a different approach and told the director that the film needs to be reworked, and within three months the script turned into a story about a boy saving his city from aliens . [3]
During the processing, Dindal, along with three experienced screenwriters and nine others, removed twenty-five scenes to improve character development and add more emotionality to the father-son relationship. Dindahl claimed that “it took us about two and a half years to, for the most part, return to where we started ... But in the course of this, the story became stronger, more emotional and, moreover, funnier.” [4]
Characters
- Tsypa is the main character, a chicken of tiny stature. Clumsy, often gets into uncomfortable situations and can not get rid of the "stigma" of a madman. Not very physically developed, but compensates for this with its very unusual ingenuity (for example, it uses soda several times as a jet engine).
- Uti-Tfuti is Tsypa's friend and duck. He claims to be the brain of the company, as well as a relationship expert. Often cites articles from magazines, which he carries with him in large numbers. Sympathizes with Tsype.
- Hryun Manyun is a friend of Tsypy and a huge piglet (although he is the smallest in the family: for example, his mother is three times his size). As befits a piglet, loud and shrill, and also very nervous, although in a critical situation it can cope with itself and show courage. Extremely awkward, is a "target" among bullies.
- Pisces-on-Sushi is another Tsypa's friend, a goldfish. Since he cannot breathe air, wears a helmet with water. It is explained by gurgling and dolphin-like sounds. Invariably optimistic, though not far-sighted - in many difficult situations he sees only an occasion to laugh.
- Liska Sklizka is the main bully of the class. Initially, it was a "kid", the main entertainment was considered to be mockery of Tsypa and his friends. He plays baseball very well. After it was “vaporized” by the aliens, due to the improper power of restoration, it turned into a “southern beauty” - its complete opposite - and fell in love with Khryunya.
- Ptah Kudah - Tsypa 's cock and father. In his youth was a baseball star. He is very worried about the fact that everyone laughs at his son, but he can not do anything about it. Later he finds common language with Tsypa. The basic principle is "tomorrow will be a new day."
- Goose Dusya - goose and girlfriend (or rather, sing along) Liski. Like Pisces, he doesn’t speak, he just makes humming sounds.
- Mr. Sherstiklok is a ram and a teacher of a ram language. Typical bore teacher.
- Coco is Tsypa's mom. Does not appear directly in the film (what happened to her, not specified); a photograph is shown where she is depicted with her family. According to Ptah Kudah, she "did well with understanding."
- The runaway baby is an orange alien child who escaped from a spaceship out of curiosity. Quickly friends with Tsypa.
- Melvin is a red alien, the father of an escaped baby. At first he depicted a stereotypical monster, but then he changed his anger to mercy. Every year flies to New Dubki for acorns.
- Tina is a yellow alien, wife of Melvin. Persuades her husband not to touch earthlings.
- Mayor Indie Gundey - turkey and mayor of the city. He loves money. “Crown” phrase: “Sweetie?”
- Porcupine Superclass is a cool porcupine. He wears sunglasses and appears in two episodes in the film. The movie posters are shown as one of the main characters.
