Copper

Hungary is divided into 19 copper ( Hungarian. Megyék , in the singular: megye - county ) and the city equated to the county ( főváros ) - Budapest . Modern administrative division was introduced in 1950 . The municipality is further subdivided into 175 yarasi ( járások , singular: járás ). The capital of Budapest is divided into 23 districts ( kerületek , in the singular: kerület ).

There are 23 cities with media rights ( megyei jogú városok , in the singular: megyei jogú város ), sometimes called urban mens. Local administrations of these cities have executive power, but they are not independent territorial units.
