Biography
Prince Konstantin-Friedrich-Peter (Konstantin Petrovich) was born on April 24 (May 9), 1850 and was the seventh child and fourth son of Prince Peter Georgievich of Oldenburg and Princess Theresa of Nassauska . Grandson of Grand Duchess Catherine Pavlovna . At birth, he was baptized in the evangelical faith (unlike the Orthodox dukes of Leuchtenberg ), but at court he was named by name and patronymic.
He received a home education, then attended a lecture course at the Imperial College of Law .
From birth, he was enlisted as a warrant officer of the guard in the Life Guard Semenovsky Regiment (until 1869). From May 21, 1869 to March 5, 1906 was listed in the Life Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment .
He participated in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 .
In 1881-1887 he commanded the 1st Khopersky Horse Regiment of the Kuban Cossack Army.
The prince of Oldenburg lived for a long time in the Caucasus . With his participation, resort business and viticulture developed, in particular, on the initiative of Konstantin Petrovich, the production of champagne wines arose in Kutaisi .
Konstantin Petrovich was a musically gifted person, participated in the circle of the "Society of wind music lovers", founded in 1872 with the participation of Tsarevich Alexander Alexandrovich .
Konstantin Petrovich died on March 5 (18), 1906 in Nice . The body was transported to Russia and buried on March 11, 1906 in the Trinity-Sergey Desert near St. Petersburg .

On October 8 (21), 1882, in Kutaisi, Konstantin Petrovich married the Georgian princess Agrippina Konstantinovna Dadiani , nee Princess Dzhaparidze (1855-1927), by an organic marriage.
