Biography

After graduating from high school, he worked as a turner at the Voronezh semiconductor device factory. In 1969 - 1971 served in the Soviet army. In 1977 he graduated from the University of Friendship of Peoples . P. Lumumba , majoring in history. He speaks Spanish and English.

In the diplomatic service since 1977, he worked in various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR and Russia: he was an assistant to the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, chief adviser to the Secretariat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, head of department, deputy director of the Latin American Department.

  • He worked in the USSR overseas missions in Mexico (1977-1981) and Peru (1986-1991).
  • From 1995 to 1999 served as Advisor and Envoy of the Embassy of Russia in Argentina.
  • He worked in international organizations in Geneva (1984) and Paris (1985). In 1994, he was a member of the UN Observer Group in the Republic of Mozambique. He participated in various international conferences.
