About the album

Machine was the last album with drummer Ken Jay to reunite the original line-up without Wayne Static to record a new album in 2018. After recording the album “Machine” , guitarist Koichi Fukuda left the band to spend time with his family and try himself in other musical projects. On the Machine album, Koichi Fukuda participated in recording only one song, “Otsego Undead,” as a keyboard player. Tripp Eisen , a former member of Dope , replaced Fukuda. Wayne Static had to work for two, that is, write all the riffs for two guitars at once. After recording the album in the fall, Tony Campos spent some time in the hospital after having an accident on his motorcycle. Therefore, he was briefly replaced by Marty O'Brien from Kilgore and Methods of Mayhem [2] . In commercial terms, this album immediately fell to the eleventh line in the Billboard 200 [3] , and was sold in the amount of more than 600 thousand copies and accordingly received the status of a gold album [4] .

In the documentary DVD Where the Hell Are We and What Day Is It ... This Is Static-X commented that the songs for this album would have solo guitars, however, in reality it turned out to be wrong.

The introductory sample of the song “A Dios Alma Perdida” contains a synthetically filtered voice saying It's me !, is an abridged version of the conversation between aliens in the 1978 movie Laser Blast .

Singles

The song “ Black and White ” became the first single and a clip was recorded for this song, the second single was the song “ This Is Not ”, he took 36th position on the Mainstream Rock chart [5] . The song “ Cold ” became the third single from the album, and a slightly modified version of the song was included in the soundtrack for the movie “ Queen of the Damned ” [6] .
