Viktor Ivanovich Chepizhny ( February 18, 1934 , Dnepropetrovsk ) - Russian chess composer ; Grandmaster of the USSR ( 1980 ), International Grandmaster ( 1989 ), International Chess Arbiter ( 1965 ), Honored Master of Sports of Russia (2005). Physical engineer, journalist. Graduated from Dnepropetrovsk University . Head of the chess editorial office of the publishing house " Physical Education and Sport " (since 1977 ).

Vice-President of the FIDE Permanent Commission on Chess Composition (since 1982 ), Chairman of the Central Commission on Chess Composition of the USSR Chess Federation (1980 - 1989 ). Since 1956 he has published over 300 problems, half of them are awarded with prizes, including 80 - first. Five-time champion of the USSR in the division of two-run (7-9th championships, 1965-1969; 16th, 1985 ; 17th, 1987 ), winner of five other championships. He was awarded a gold medal (with L. Loshinsky ) and a silver medal in the two-run section, a bronze medal (with L. Loshinsky) in the three-run section at the Olympic competition in Leipzig ( 1960 ). The improvement of Chepizhny’s mastery as a chess composer was facilitated by communication with V. Rudenko (more than 100 tasks together) and L. Loshinsky.
The creativity of Chepizhny is characterized by the originality of the idea, the nuancing of the design, the desire for simplicity. Favorite genres: two-way with a change of game, three-way and coopmat .
The winner of the individual world championships (WCCI) for 1998 - 2000 in the two-way section [2] and for 2004 - 2006 in the co-op section [3] .
Lives in Moscow.
