Career

Club

Ignazio Abate - a pupil of “ Milan ”, but began his career in the club of the C1 series “ Napoli ”, which was leased. Then Abate changed several teams - “ Sampdoria ”, in which he did not play a single game, in “ Piacenza ” and “ Modena ”. In 2007, Empoli bought part of the rights to the football player, in which, according to the terms of the deal, Abate spent the season.

July 23, 2008 Abate was sold to the Torino club, for part of the rights to a football player (the other part remained with Empoli), the Turin club paid 2 million euros. On October 15, 2008, Abate, in a match with Atalanta , received an ankle injury, which brought him out of the game for 2 months. On December 7, the player returned to the field. In 2009, he returned to Milan. In the 2009/10 season, under the leadership of Leonardo Abate, who initially replaced the right midfielder, he shifted to the defense. Abate played for youth teams of Italy of all ages, participated in the Beijing Olympics.

On November 11, 2011 he made his debut for the Italian national team in a friendly match against Poland. The game ended 2-0 in favor of the Italians. He played for the Italian team at the European Championship (2012).
