Danjulo Ishizaka ( German: Danjulo Ishizaka ; born 1979 , Bonn ) is a German cellist . The son of a German and a Japanese.

He studied under Hans Christian Schweiker, then at Indiana University and finally at the Eisler Berlin Higher School of Music under Boris Pergamenshchikov ( 1998 - 2004 ) and Tabeya Zimmerman ( 2004 - 2006 ). Winner of international competitions named after Gaspard Cassado ( 1998 ), named after Lutoslavsky ( 1999 ), named after Emmanuel Feuerman ( 2002 ); in 2002 , he also received the fourth prize of the International Tchaikovsky Competition .
Since 2003 , he has performed with leading European orchestras under the direction of, in particular, Krzysztof Penderetsky , Mstislav Rostropovich , Valery Gergiev .
In 2006 , he recorded a debut CD with sonatas by Felix Mendelssohn , Cesar Frank and Benjamin Britten , awarded the Echo Klassik Prize.
