Guira de Melena ( Spanish: Güira de Melena ) is a municipality and city in the province of Artemis in Cuba . Founded in 1779 . The area is 178 km ² [1] . The population of the municipality in 2004 was 37,838 people. The population density is 212.6 people per square kilometer [2] .

The municipality of Guira de Melena is divided into districts: Gabriel, North Pueblo, Sibanakan, Sur Pueblo, Tumbadero and Turibokoa [3]
The economy of the territory is based on the agro-industrial complex. First of all, in the production and processing of tobacco. The city has several tobacco factories. In addition to tobacco, potatoes, bananas, pineapples and other tropical fruits and dairy products are grown in the area.
