Wrestling career
Return to WWE (2009 - 2013)
At WWE, Christian held the ECW champion title for the longest. On the last issue of ECW, he lost the title to Isekiel Jackson . After the close, ECW ended up on the RAW brand. And after 2 months, as a result of the draft, he was transferred to SmackDown !. September 24, during one of SmackDown !’s episodes, Alberto Del Rio attacked Christian backstage, injuring the latter [5] . He returned to the Elimination Chamber to save Edge from Alberto Del Rio.
Various Championships (2011-2012)
On April 15, when his friend Edge ended his wrestling career, he became the second contender for the vacant world heavyweight title in a fight with ladders at the Extreme Rules PPV Show against Del Rio. Prior to this, the title was held by Edge, whom Christian helped keep the title from Del Rio in WrestleMania. Christian won Del Rio at the Extreme Rules PPV Show in the Ladder Match, and won his first world heavyweight title . While Del Rio was already practically pulling out his belt, Edge came by car and distracted him, after which Christian threw the ladder from Del Rio into the ring. At the next SmackDown !, general manager Theodore Long scheduled a duel for the Christian title, where Randy Orton became the champion's opponent. The latter was able to win and become the new champion. A rematch on Over The Limit does not bring Christian victory, but Christian gets a second chance. At the Capitol Punishment, Christian again lost the match to Orton and never received the champion title, due to a mistake by the judge who did not notice Christian’s foot on the rope during the hold. On July 1, Christian defeated Sin Karu and thereby again received the right to fight for the championship. At the end of the program, Christian and Orton signed an agreement in the ring to hold a match for PPV “Money In The Bank”, but Shimus ran into the ring, beat both of them and broke the contract. But on the next show, general manager of SmackDown! Theodore Long said that the fight will be held according to the rules of the contract, where it was written that if Orton is disqualified or the judge is mistaken, Christian will become the champion. In a fight at Money In The Bank, Christian spat on Orton in the face, after which he received a blow between the legs from Orton, who was disqualified after that. Christian became the champion. At the Summerslam 2011 super show, Christian fought against Randy Orton for the title of the match without limits, and lost after the crown RKO on the steps. He returned to the show on August 26 and demanded his rematch on the next special edition of SmackDown. Bret Hart , who was the special guest manager that day, could not refuse, as the wrestler carried an opinion from his lawyers. However, Hart announced that the match for the title will be held in a cage next week. Christian lost this match. Christian later unleashed a feud with Shimus, as Shimus repeatedly prevented Christian from becoming a champion. They fought on Hell in a Cell and Vengeance, but Christian lost both fights. He began to constantly appear in company with Cody Rhodes . He was later declared as a member of the Wade Barrett team on the Survivor Series, but was injured. As a result, Christiana was replaced by Dolph Ziggler.
Christian recovered from his injury and returned to the ring on February 20 at the Elimination Chamber (2012) . Christian was enlisted in the John Lourinitis group at WrestleMania XXVIII . March 26 at RAW was supposed to be a match of SM Punk and Christian. After speaking to SM Punk about his family, Christian suddenly attacked SM Punk from behind. An enraged SM Punk beat Christian. As a result, Christian missed the match in WrestleMania due to injuries inflicted by SM Punk. However, he attended the introduction to the hall of fame of his best friend Edge. He returned to Over the Limit (2012) and immediately won the royal battle, and a little later, at the same PPV, he won the title of intercontinental champion from Cody Rhodes and became a face. He later stated that he would now do everything to get into the hall of fame after Edge. At PPV, No Way Out successfully defended his intercontinental champion title from Cody Rhodes. At PPV Money in the Bank participated in the battle for the case, which gives the right to a match for the world heavyweight title. On issue 1000, RAW lost its belt to intercontinental champion Mizu.
Returns and Careers (2013–2014)
He returned on June 17, 2013 to RAW and defeated Wade Barrett . On June 21, Drew Mac Intyra won at SmackDown, after which he began to read a promo saying that he was back for another match for the title, but the Shield group attacked him. On June 24, Rhodes Scholars defeated Rimdes Scholars on the RAW team. It was also announced that he would take part in the Money in the bank match for the WWE championship case. At the PPV Money in the Bank (2013) participated in the battle for the red case, he fought hard, but unfortunately did not win it. At SmackDown on August 2, Alberto Del Rio said he also wants to choose an opponent for his SummerSlam World Heavyweight Championship match, as John Cena did. Del Rio chose his ringanoner - Ricardo Rodriguez, and then Brooklyn Deboshire as his opponent. But SmackDown’s general manager, Vicki Guerrero, was opposed to such an idea and scheduled a “Three Threat” duel between Randy Orton, Christian and Rob Van Dam for the fight for the world heavyweight title at SummerSlam. Christian won the match and became No. 1 contender for the fight for the world heavyweight title. On August 9 at SmackDown, Christian defeated Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. At the PPV SummerSlam (2013) lost to Alberto Del Rio in the match for the world heavyweight title. On RAW on August 26, he lost to WWE champion Randy Orton.
On SmackDown! on January 31, Christian returned. After that, he defeated Jack Swagger and thereby won a place in the Cell of Annihilation. On SmackDown! On February 7, Randy Orton defeated Christian. On February 17, he made a hill turn on RAW, attacking Daniel Brian. At the Elimination Chamber (2014), he fought in the destruction cage for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but flew second. On March 24 at RAW, Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio and Sheimus and became No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental title. Their match was supposed to take place on the next issue of WWE Main Event, but it was announced that Christian was injured. Christian Face returned to Pre-Show Night of Champions (2014) where he held the Peep Show with Chris Jericho. Christian also appeared on November 7 at SmackDown! where he again held the Peep Show with Dean Ambrose. On December 29th RAW, Edge and Christian were specially invited general managers, and they hosted The Cutting Edge Peep Show with Seth Rollins.
