The Council of People's Deputies of the Kemerovo Oblast [* 1] is a legislative (representative) body of state power in the Kemerovo Region .

The Constitution of the Russian Federation of 1993, the Kemerovo region was given the status of a subject of the Russian Federation and the right of legislative regulation on issues of joint jurisdiction with the Russian Federation and on issues of its own competence in the Kemerovo region. In accordance with this, in March 1994, the Legislative Assembly of the Kemerovo Region was elected, which in 1998 was renamed the Council of People's Deputies of the Kemerovo Region [2] .
The status and powers of the Kemerovo Regional Sovnardepa, as well as the procedure for electing deputies are determined by the Charter of the Kemerovo Region [3] . It consists of 46 deputies [* 2] , elected by a mixed electoral system , elected by the population of the region on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot for a term of 5 years. Currently, the Council of People's Deputies of the Kemerovo Region has deputies of the fourth convocation [2] .
The building of the regional Council is located in Kemerovo , in the Central District on the Soviets Square at Sovetsky Avenue , 58.

Regional Council Deputy
A citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached 21 years of age who has the right to vote in accordance with federal laws and laws of the region may be elected deputy of the Kemerovo Region. Deputies of the Council of People's Deputies of the Kemerovo Region enjoy immunity on the territory of the Kemerovo Region , guaranteed by federal law and the law of the region, for the entire term of office [3] .

Election history
In April 2003, the majority of places received a block - I Serve Kuzbass. In October 2008, 36 deputies were elected (17 from the UR, 1 from the UR in the general region, and 18 from the UR from the single-mandate districts). The last election was held in 2013 . 23 deputies were elected in the multi-member district (22 in the EP list, 1 in the LDPR list). 23 deputies were elected from single-member constituencies (22 according to the EP lists, 1 according to the SR list). Later, in exchange for retired deputies, elections were held in several single-member districts.
