Biography
He graduated from the Moscow Forestry Engineering Institute (1969) and graduate school of the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1982). Candidate of Cultural Studies (dissertation "Due and Existing as Categories of the Cultural-Historical Process", 1999), Doctor of Philosophy [1] .
He teaches at Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosova (lecture course on the theory of local civilizations at the Faculty of World Politics ), professor at the Department of History and Theory of Culture of the Russian State Humanitarian University .
He is the author of 240 publications, including 7 monographs, including the book “Risks of the Social Transformation of Russian Society: Cultural Aspect” (2006), according to E. Ikhlov, “very tough and bitter discussions <...> about the difficult fate of Russia and even more difficult its prospects ”,“ an ideal intellectual provocation in the conditions when the thesis of the polemics of Catherine II and Didro on the appropriateness of democracy in Russia becomes an ideological hit ” [2] . Co-author of the book “History of Russia: the end or a new beginning?”. Compiled by “Russia as a Civilization. Sustainable and volatile ”(Moscow: Nauka, 2007).
In the field of theoretical cultural science , together with A. A. Pelipenko , he became the author of the joint monograph Culture as a System: Structural Morphology of Culture. The unity of ontogenesis and phylogenesis. An isomorphism of thinking and historical-cultural phenomenology ”, 1998.
In 2011, the book Manichaeism and Gnosticism: cultural codes of Russian civilization was co-authored with A. Muzykantsky.
He develops the problems of mentality , ritual , and the dynamics of culture.
