Cancun International Airport ( Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún ) is located in the same city of Cancun , province of Quintana Roo , on the Caribbean coast of Mexico , the Yucatan Peninsula . It currently ranks fifth among the busiest airports in Latin America after Mexico City , Congonhas , Guarulhos (both in São Paulo ) and El Dorado in Bogota .

In 2006, 9,728,149 passengers passed through Cancun Airport, the next year their number increased to 11.34 million, and the airport ended 2008 with an indicator of almost 12.5 million passengers served [1] . Cancun is developing dynamically, as it is currently Mexico's second largest hub. The airport has three terminals:
- Terminal 1 is used by charter airlines from Mexico and North America .
- Terminal 2 serves several international destinations and almost all flights within the country.
- Terminal 3 is used for almost all international flights of North America and Europe .
In total, three terminals include 47 gates (gates), of which 17 are remote, 22 (A1-A11 and B12-B22) are located in Terminal 2 and the remaining 14 are in Terminal 3 [2] .
