Kyushi

Kyushi - literally means “kyuev performer”. A musician playing dombra, kobyz and sybyzgy. Kyushi is also called a dombra player, kobyzist and sybyzistist. Kyushi are divided into those who perform compositions on a particular instrument, and composers who perform their own compositions.

Kui is a Kazakh folk instrumental piece, performed mainly on dombra . Kui embodies many years of folk art and reflects various manifestations of nature in a musical form. There are kui depicting horse races, birds flying, the rustling of snakes, etc. They are performed by kyushi , as well as parshes and akyns .

Cui have local styles that are pronounced in the intonation stock of tunes, types of instruments, and performing technique. Famous performers of kyusha are - Korkyt-ata (VII-VIII centuries), Ketbug (XII-XIII centuries). The best examples of cuvs in Western Kazakhstan are the works of outstanding composers - kuyshi Kurmangazy , Akhmedyarov and Dauletkerei , for East and North Kazakhstan - Tattimbet and Agashayak, for the South - Ihlas, Sugur, Bayserke and others.

Modern composers are kyushi: D. Nurpeisova , M. Yerzhanov , J. Kalambaev , A. Shingozhayev and others.
