Channel 24 - a television channel broadcast on the air of Moscow from 1994 to June 7, 1999, on channel 24 of the decimeter range, by agreement with the license holder, Cosmos-TV (JV Metromedia International Group and FSUE RTRS). The first broadcasts began in 1986 during the visit of US President Ronald Reagan to Russia, and round-the-clock relaying of CNN in English began after the creation of Cosmos-TV in 1991. The partnership between Cosmos-TV and CNN implied broadcasting only in satellite format, therefore, on January 1, 1998, the contract was terminated and the channel became a relay of various television channels (such as Discovery Channel , Cartoon Network and VIVA ) in pool mode. In the spring of 1999, the channel switched to the original content (concerts of Soviet pop stars), and on June 7, 1999 it was closed and replaced with “ Daryal TV ” [1] (the channel began broadcasting at the next 23rd decimeter frequency).
