Biography

Born March 18, 1919 in Tambov in the family of a Russian worker. After leaving school and two courses of the railway school (now TOGBOU SPO "Polytechnic College" of the city of Tambov, a memorial plaque was installed at the college) he worked at the car repair plant.

In 1940 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army , and in 1941 he graduated from the Yegoryevsk military aviation school of pilots and in October 1942 he was sent to the front.

By July 1944, on the account of Valery Sergeyevich there were 3 enemy aircraft shot down and 150 sorties, during which heavy losses were inflicted on the enemy.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 2, 1944 for exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to the deputy squadron commander of the 93rd Guards Assault Aviation Regiment of the 5th Guards Assault Aviation Division 1- Guards Composite air corps 17th air army Guard lieutenant Ryzhkov Valery S. was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and medal " Star Olot » (number 4348) [1] .

After the war ended, Valery Sergeyevich graduated from the Higher Flight Tactical Training Courses for Officers in 1947, then in 1946 he graduated from the Air Force Academy, and in 1961 he retired to the rank of colonel.

He died on March 25, 1991 in Voronezh , was buried in the Comintern cemetery .
