Kiev district

The Kiev district is a unit of administrative division of the Ukrainian SSR that existed from April 1923 to July 1930 . The administrative center is the city of Kiev .

It was founded in 1923 as part of the Kiev province .

In June 1925 , the provinces in Ukraine were abolished and the district became directly subordinate to the Ukrainian SSR.

The district was abolished in July 1930, like most districts of the USSR. The districts were transferred directly to the Ukrainian SSR.

According to the 1926 census, the population was 1,592.9 thousand people. Including Ukrainians - 78.0%; Jews - 10.2%; Russians - 8.7%; Poles - 1.6%.

Initially, it was divided into 25 districts: Baryshevsky , Berezansky , Byshevsky , Borispolsky , Borodyansky , Brovarsky , Brusilovsky , Budaevsky , Vasilkovsky , Velikodimersky , Germanovsky , Gostomelsky , Dimersky , Zhukinsky , Ivankovsky , Pagovsky , Kagarlitsky , Rozovyshsky , Obuvov Khabensky , Chernobyl and Shepelitsky . The regional division has repeatedly changed.
