Satellite Orbital Data
- Perigee (km) - 298 km
- Apogee (km) - 330 km
- The period of revolution around the Earth - 90.6 minutes
- The angle of inclination of the plane of the orbit to the plane of the equator of the Earth - 65 °
Satellite Mounted Equipment
The satellite had equipment for studying primary cosmic rays and the Earth’s radiation belt to ensure radiation safety during manned flights. In particular, radiation measurements were taken during and after the American nuclear explosion in outer space under the Starfich program [1]
The satellite also had a television camera , which carried out the first television survey of the Earth's cloud cover from space, which marked the beginning of meteorological forecasting using space means.
