Regla ( Spanish: Regla ) is one of Havana 's 15 municipalities, a commercial, port and industrial suburb .

The city is known for its rich colonial history. The first settlements in this area appeared around the 1690s, when the church of the Virgin Mary (Nuestra Senora de Regla) was founded. The official year of foundation of the city is 1765 . In the 19th century, the city was the center of smugglers .
Currently, the city is famous for the dance ensemble Guaracheros de Regla , traditional holidays in honor of the Virgin Mary (Virgen de Regla).
Regla is the sister city of California's Richmond . [one]

In 2004, the population of Regla was 44.4 thousand people. [2] The area of the municipality is 9 sq. Km. [3] , the population density of 4900 people / sq. Km.
