Biography
Vladimir Tokmakov was born in Barnaul . After graduating from high school in 1986 - 1988 he served in the border troops on the island of Kunashir , was a military officer in the newspaper "The Border Guard on the Pacific Ocean." In 1994, Vladimir graduated from the Faculty of Philology and Journalism at Altai State University and began working as a correspondent for the newspaper Vecherny Barnaul .
Since 1998, he has been working as a columnist for the Altaiskaya Pravda newspaper , in 2007–2009 he was a senior correspondent for Rossiyskaya Gazeta . Since 2009, Tokmakov has been conducting the “Print Format” program on Katun 24 TV channel.
Wife - Svetlana Tokmakova, MD, professor, head of the department of therapeutic dentistry of the Altai State Medical University .
He has two sons - Gleb (born in 1998) and Alexey (October 1, 2003).
Creative activities
The first poetic publication of Vladimir - in 1988 in the newspaper " Youth of Altai ". In the same year, with the young Barnaul poets, Tokmakov created an informal literary association ERA (Epicenter of Russian Avant-garde). It was published in the magazines "Likbez", "Altai", "Barnaul", "Our Contemporary", "Day and Night", "New Youth", "Arion", "Siberian Athens", "Upper Zone", "Young Genius", “Autograph” and others, in anthologies and collective collections of Barnaul, cities of Siberia and the Urals.
Vladimir Tokmakov is the author of six collections of poems:
• “The fragrance of a girl behind a stone wall” ( 1995 ),
• “Double bottom” ( 1997 ),
• "Divination on the rope of the hanged man" ( 1997 ),
• “Fear of the Dark” ( 1999 ),
• “Without further ado” ( 2003 ),
• “Free Shooter” ( 2008 ),
and four books of prose:
• “A children 's home for elderly murderers ” [1] (first edition - Barnaul, 2001 , then the novel was republished in St. Petersburg , at Amfora Publishing House [2] , Generation Y series, 2002 ; reissued in Barnaul in 2015 [ 3] )
• “The present lasts nine seconds” ( 2005 ),
• “Collection of truffles on the eve of the end of the world” ( 2014 ) [4]
• The Forbidden Book of the White Burkhan ( 2017 ) [5] .
Awards and prizes
Vladimir Tokmakov is a participant of the poetic festival "Spring of the Pritomye" ( Kemerovo , 1990 ); 1st and 2nd All-Siberian congress of young writers ( Tomsk , 2000 , 2003 ); 1st and 2nd forums of young writers of Russia ( Moscow , Lipki , 2001 , 2002 ).
Winner of the All-Russian Competition "Overcoming" for materials "On the three heads below" and "Please wash your hands before reading" ( 2002 ); the award of the head of the Altai Territory administration in the field of journalism for active creative search, bright individual style, a series of Saturday reports that opened a new direction in the development of the newspaper ( 2001 ); the interregional journalistic skill competition “Siberia - the territory of hopes” in the nomination “Civil Initiative in the Media” ( 2002 ); of the social journalism competition of the Siberian-Federal District "Terra Incognito" in the nomination "Best Report" ( 2002 ).
Member of the Union of Journalists of Russia since 2000 , and a member of the Union of Russian Writers since 2004 .
Admitted to the International PEN Club in December 2012 . [6]
