Brown, Warwick

Warwick Brown ( Eng. Warwick Brown , December 24, 1949 , Sydney ) is an Australian race car driver who has participated in the Formula 1 World Auto Racing Championship. Winner of the 1975 Tasmanian Series .

Biography

In 1973 he started in the Tasmanian series on a Lola T300 car, in February of that year he had an accident at the series stage in Surfers Paradise , which ended with such severe leg fractures that after a three-month recovery Brown became five centimeters lower than before the accident. In 1974, he returned to the race with a McLaren M10B, which won the last stage of the Tasmanian series in Adelaide , and also started in the North American Formula 5000 Championship. In 1975, he won the Tasmanian series, winning two races and twice coming second. At the 1976 U.S. Grand Prix, he took part in the Formula 1 World Cup for the only time, started with Wolf Williams FW05 from 23rd place and finished in last 14th place, losing five laps to race winner James Hunt . In 1978, he became vice-champion of the Kan-Am sports car series, at the end of 1979 he completed his racing career and went into business.
