Story
Three students of the Kiev bursa went on vacation to do tutoring. On the way, they got lost in the dark and asked to spend the night on a remote farm . One of the students, Homa Brut, at the strange will of the old housewife received a place to sleep in a barn. Preparing for sleep in the dark, Homa was frightened by the unexpected visit of the hostess, who jumped up on him and rode across the fields and the gully . Exhausted Homa began to read prayers and noticed that the witch's spell was weakening. One of the prayers helped him free himself. Homa himself jumped on the old woman and began to drive her, okhazhivaya log. By morning, the spell was finally dispelled, and the old woman turned into a beautiful mural, which fell to the ground in exhaustion.
Shocked by the incident, Homa Brut decided not to tutor, but to return to Kiev and spend the holidays in an empty bursa hostel. However, a few days later he received an order from the rector of the Bursa - to go to a certain rich centurion to read the prayers over the dying beauty daughter. Homa, suspecting that this was due to his recent adventure, tried in every way to get away from the errand, but he did not work. The centurion’s people locked him in the church for the night together with the centurion’s daughter, who died in time, and Homa began to pray. Bursak looked into the face of the deceased and made sure that it was the same young woman who had jumped on it.
Three nights Homa recited prayers. On the first night the corpse got out of the coffin and began to search for Khoma. The dogous Bursak outlined around him a circle with chalk on the floor - and the devilry could not do anything with it. The second night the matter went worse: the witch tried to break through the circle that protected Khomu in the coffin on which she flew around the church, but again nothing came of it. Bursak left the church in the morning all gray-haired - before he went back to the coffin, the witch cast a spell on him.
On the third night a huge number of monsters crammed into the church. Everyone was looking for a bursak. In order to see him, they brought Vii - a certain gnome with an iron face and for centuries to the ground. In order for Wii to look, the evil spirits had to lift his eyelids.
Homa felt it was not worth looking Viyu in the eye, but could not stand it, and looked. Immediately Wii pointed his finger at him, and evil spirits attacked. Homa Brut died before the last voice of the rooster, signifying the beginning of the day. Scum, throwing out of the church, stuck in the windows and doors.
The other two Bursaks, discussing the death of Homa, argue that if he had not been frightened and had not looked into Viy’s eyes, he would have been saved.
