Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict
Although the village is not borderline (there is another Mosesgeh village to the border), but the village was also badly damaged by the war. On March 17, 1991, a resident of the village of Choratan Grigor Zargaryan was abducted in the morning by unknown persons, and after 33 hours he was returned with signs of violence and a cut off ear.
| - Grigor Serobovich is 61 years old. On March 17 , as usual, he worked in a vineyard on the Karap site bordering with Azerbaijan , while being 20 meters from the border. At half-past ten three armed Azerbaijanis approached him (one of them was in police uniform) and offered to go with them. Zargaryan naturally refused. Then all three attacked him, twisted their arms and forcibly dragged along with them. A UAZ -469 car was already waiting for them on the road, into which an elderly man was pushed and taken to the side of Agdam . - said the head of the Taushsky District Department of Internal Affairs, police lieutenant colonel Misha Mezhlumyan. |
As Zargaryan himself later told, he was beaten all this time, and then, left in his underwear, they locked him barefoot in a garage, someone called Ali called on and beat him up and down. The last thing he could remember: after some time he was taken out of the garage, blindfolded and taken away somewhere. Then, in a room, a young man came up to the exhausted Grigor Serobovich , whose hands were tied, and cut off his right ear with a knife.
Upon learning of the abduction, we immediately contacted the Tauz district police department of the neighboring republic , and reported what had happened. They found Grigor Serobovich and expressed their readiness to return it at any time convenient for us. We agreed on March 18 in the neutral territory between the village of Aygepar and the village of Alibeyli at 19 o’clock. The opposite side did not appear at the appointed time. We waited for them for quite some time. When finally darkened, they finally appeared. Zargaryan’s head was bandaged, a cap with earflaps was put on. He was in a state of shock. About the cut off ear became known already in the hospital. [four]
