Santa Clara ( Spanish Santa Clara ), in 1940 renamed Las Villas ( Spanish Las Villas ) - the historical province of Cuba , located in the central part of the country. The provincial capital was the city of Santa Clara .
In 1976 it was divided into the provinces of Villa Clara , Cienfuegos and Sancti Spiritus [1] .
