Ekaterina Yurievna Vaganova (b. January 9, 1988 ) - world champion in sports ballroom dancing in the Latin American and standard programs, two-time champion of Russia, four-time champion of Italy, two-time vice world champion in the group Latin American youth dance, IDSF, world champion 2010, 2011 according to IDSA and IDU versions and the 2010 European champion in Latin American dances according to the WDC, multiple finalist of the World and European championships in IDSF. Biography
Catherine started dancing at the age of 2.5 in the choreography club [3] in the city of Vilyuchinsk ( Kamchatka Region ), and from the age of 6 she began to practice ballroom dancing. When she was 11 years old, the family moved to Moscow . [four]
Two years later, in tandem with Alexander Ermachenkov, Ekaterina became the World Junior Champion in the program of 10 dances. [5] The merits of Catherine and Alexander were awarded the 2001 Exercise Prize for their contribution to the development of Russian dance sport. [6]
From 2004 to 2006 Ekaterina Vaganova, together with Gabriel Goffredo, represented Italy. Catherine and Gabriel won the Italian Championship twice and twice became World Youth Vice Champions in the Latin American program. [7]
From 2006 to 2008 Ekaterina Vaganova performed in tandem with Andrea Di'Angeles. After a year and a half of joint dancing, they became fourth in the World Championship 2007 and European Championship 2007 in the program of 10 dances.
