Respublika publishing house is a Russian publishing house with a humanitarian profile, it publishes official documents and materials from the highest legislative and executive bodies of the Russian Federation, socio-economic, art, children's and other literature, as well as textbooks, calendars, etc.

Content

History

The publishing house was created after the ban on the activity of the CPSU at the end of 1991 on the basis of the publishing house Politizdat , which had the status of the central political publishing house of the USSR. In December 1991, by the decision of the Council of Ministers - the Government of the RSFSR , the Publishing House Respublika was established on the basis of the Political Literature Publishing House of the CPSU Central Committee.

Publishing Activity

Nikolay Berdyaev in the “B-ka ethical thoughts” series. 1993

Respublika maintains the tradition of publishing political-documentary and political science literature, although in much smaller volumes as compared with the circulation of Politizdat. In 1993–1995 , 49 official collections were published, including those containing transcripts of meetings of the State Duma of the Russian Federation . During this period, the most interesting is the publishing project, connected with the analysis of the political and socio-economic orders that are taking shape in Russian society. It includes 3 large-scale collective studies, prepared under the guidance of Academician G. V. Osipov, Director of ISPI RAS :
1) “Russia is at a critical point: a revival or a catastrophe” ;
2) “Russia: national strategy and social priorities” ;
3) “Russia: a new stage of neoliberal reforms” .
These works present not only a serious analytical approach to the dynamics in Russian society, but also the availability of extensive, original reference and encyclopedic material developed by the research centers of the Institute itself. In recent years, many other books have been published, in which, in theoretical or historical aspects, individual aspects of the life of Russian society and the state are considered. In this case, the authors were people of various opinions and beliefs.

N. Berdyaev in the series “ Thinkers of the 20th Century ”. 1994

In the 1990s, the publishing house of the Republic took the central place in the publication of philosophical literature in all its areas, including political philosophy . Due to this “Republic” began to return the previously lost credibility in the publishing market. The two literary series started by Politizdat , “ Thinkers of the 20th Century ” and “Library of Ethical Thought”, became famous. They were formed according to the principle: to publish those texts with which, for one reason or another, the domestic reader could not get acquainted before. Interesting works of philosophical content appeared in the series “Past and Present” (1994), “Philosophy on the Edge of a New Millennium” (1997), “Sages” and others.

“Republic” traditionally pays great attention to educational, vocabulary and reference books, including dictionaries and reference books on religion, political science, and economics.
