Geology
Hillaby is not, although it belongs to the volcanic system located at the bottom of the ocean, and stretching from Puerto Rico to the island of Trinidad . The mountain and island are formed as an accretionary prism at the junction of the Caribbean and South American plates [2] . The mountain slopes are covered with 100 meter bottom and mud volcanic deposits, covered with limestone and siliceous layers from above [3] . In some places there is a marl in which fossils are found.
