Club career

A student of the Pro Vercelli football club, from 1930 to 1933 he played for the first Pro Vercelli team. May 31, 1931 in a game against Modena made his debut in Serie A.

In 1933 he moved to Turin Juventus . As part of Juventus, he spent 388 official matches over 16 years, including 359 in Italian championships.

In 1949, the 36-year-old Depetrini moved to another Turin club, Torino , after the former squad had died in a plane crash near Superga . In “Torino” he spent the next two seasons and in 1951 ended his career as a player.

International Career

In 1936, Theobaldo Depetrini was first called to the Italian team by coach Vittorio Pozzo , made his debut on May 17, 1936 in a game against Austria (2: 2). For 10 years in the national team (with a break for wartime), Depetrini played 12 matches, in his last match, on December 1, 1946, Austria was also an opponent of the Italians.

Coaching career

Depetrini began his career as a coach in 1951 at Siena , then coached his own Pro Vercelli club and several amateur teams.

He returned to Juventus as a coach in November 1958 when, after a failure in the Champions Cup , Lyubisha Brochich was fired, however this return was very short and he was replaced by Renato Cesarini at the end of the 1958/59 season. Under the leadership of Depetrini, Juventus played 32 matches and won 18 of them, including becoming the owner of the 1958/59 Italian Cup.
