“Make Bonfires, Blue Nights” is a Soviet pioneer song written in 1922 . The author of the words is the poet Alexander Alekseevich Zharov , the author of the music is the pianist Sergei Fedorovich Kaydan-Dyoshkin .
According to Zharov's memoirs, in May 1922, at one of the meetings in the Central Committee of the Komsomol , Lenin's wife Nadezhda Krupskaya was present, who proposed the idea of creating a pioneer song. Zharov was instructed to write a song within two weeks. Dmitry Furmanov , whom Zharov turned to for advice, suggested writing a text based on some famous song [1] . At the Bolshoi Theater, at the performance of the opera Faust , Zharov heard the Soldier's Choir by composer Charles Gounod , which was taken as a basis. Komsomolets Sergey Deshkin, who was instructed to process the march, gave the music a different character and adapted it for the pioneer horn . In the original version, the word “ era ” is used: not “the time of light years”, but “the era of light years” [2] .
