Before becoming a director, he took part in the creation of a number of studio series as a director and / or storyboard. Among these are: Outlaw Star (1998), The Big O (1999), Gear Fighter Dendou (2000), Overman King Gainer (2002), etc.
It should be noted that there is ambiguity regarding the spelling of the director's name. On some English-language sites, such as the English Wikipedia, or on the popular ANN site, his last name is spelled Obara ( [1] ). In Japanese Wikipedia and a number of other Japanese sources, it is written as Kohara (こ は ら, see [2] , [3] (inaccessible link) , [4] ). However, in the English section of the official website of the Sunrise studio, his last name is recorded as Ohara ( [5] (link unavailable) , [6] (link unavailable) ). In the same way, “ Ohara ”, his name was announced by the producer of the same Sunrise studio, Furusato Naotake , who worked directly with this director, speaking in the program 宇宙 を か け る ラ ジ オ (see [7] , transmission on 04/20/2009). Thus, other reading options can be considered erroneous.
