Biography
Anatoly Vladimirovich Betekhtin was born on September 20, 1931 in the village of Argunovo in the Vologda region, the Northern Territory , the RSFSR , the USSR (now the Nikolsky District of the Vologda Region ).
In 1950, drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army . He graduated from the Kiev school of self-propelled artillery in 1953 [1] .
Since 1953, he sequentially commanded a tank platoon, company, and battalion. Member of the CPSU since 1953.
In 1961 he graduated from the Military Academy of Armored Forces .
Since 1966 he was a senior officer in the operational department of the army headquarters.
Since 1968 - deputy commander of a tank regiment.
Since December 1969 - deputy commander of a tank division.
In 1972 he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff . Subsequently, he graduated from the Higher Academic Courses with her in 1980. After graduating from the Academy in August 1972, he commanded a tank division.
From September 1975 - the chief of staff, and from February 1978 to July 1981 - the commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army as part of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany . Major General (02/13/1976). [2]

In April 1992, dismissed and dismissed. After the creation of the Service of Inspectors General of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2008, he was the Inspector General of the Service until the last days of his life [5] .
