When submitting documents on March 26, 1685, for the introduction of the genus in the Velvet Book , a pedigree of the Durasovs and two import certificates on estates in the Moscow and Murom counties dating from 1557-1571 were provided [3] .
One of its branches became very wealthy at the end of the 18th century due to marriage with the heiress of the Butchers of millions. Representatives of this branch built estates Lublino and Gorki near Moscow, and in Moscow a magnificent house on Pokrovsky Boulevard , which gave the name Durasovsky Lane .
There was still the noble family of the Durasovs from the Kazan Tatars , who, since the 17th century, owned the estate in Arzamas district . It comes from the Tatar Kirinbey, who switched to Russian service in 1545.
Genesis
Like almost all pillar nobles, the Durasovs proclaimed their ancestor "husband honest" from abroad. According to a family legend, which was included in the Common Stamp , the Polish nobleman Ivan (possibly of the Fools clan) moved to Moscow during the reign of Ivan III , in 1482:
The ancestor of the Durasov family went to the Grand Duke Ivan Vasilyevich from Poland and was granted by the villages. Semen Ivanov son, in 7046/1538 from the Sovereign Tsar and Grand Duke Ivan Vasilievich, he was granted the estate with a letter. Rusin Semenov, son of the Duras, in 7054/1546 was written in the thousandth book among the best nobles. Similarly, many other Durasovs of this kind, the noble services in various ranks served the Russian throne and were granted estates from the Sovereigns. Two Durasovs were killed near Smolensk (1632), one - near Riga (1656). All this is proved by the certificates of the Archive of the Votchinny Department and the Durasovs' family tree.

Ducal title
Like the Demidovs , who acquired the title of Princes of San Donato in Italy, Vasily Alekseevich Durasov in 1911 paid 35 thousand pesetas to the Spanish Ministry of Justice for recognizing the title of Duke of Duracki [4] . Upon arrival in Spain, he even demanded an audience with "his relative" Alphonse XIII , which he was denied [4] . The choice of such a curious title was explained by an attempt to produce the name "Duras" from a stupid branch of the medieval, long-extinct Anjou-Sicilian house - the youngest branch of the French royal Capetian dynasty (the Spanish king belonged to the Bourbon branch ).
A few months before the overthrow of the monarchy (October 3, 1916 ), Durasov’s right to bear the ducal title was confirmed by decree of Nicholas II , after which V. A. Durasov changed his surname to “Durasov-Durazzo-Anzhuisky” [5] [6] .
