Construction
In total, it was planned to build four ships of this type, but due to problems with the supply of anti-aircraft missiles for them, as a result, only two were built in 1982-1991.
Service
Since June 1988, they, like the other remaining French destroyers, were officially reclassified to frigates . Both ships in 2001-2003 underwent a small modernization. It was planned that destroyers of the Kassard type would remain in service until 2012, after which they would be replaced by new Horizon ships in the French Navy .
