Career
Pupil DYuSSh-1 (Eagle). He spent the first half of his career in Rostov , speaking for the local Rostselmash and SKA . In the fall of 1994, he moved to the Israeli club of the second division of Maccabi (Yavne) . He played 16 matches for the club.
Then he received an invitation from the German “Arminia” (Bielefeld) , whose trainer remembered Gennady from watching in “ Oldenburg ”. At Arminia, he played for six months, but after the arrival of a new coach, Styopushkin had to leave the team.
Before the start of the 1995 season, he trained as part of the Tarkhanov CSKA : he went with the club all the preseason and was preparing to sign a contract. However, he was tempted to an invitation from South Korea , in which he spent the next two years.
In the first season for the Cheonan Ilhwa Cheonma club, he became the champion of Korea, the holder of the Asian Champions Cup , and was also recognized as the best defender of Asia. Styopushkin began the 1997 season at the Anyan Al-Chitas Club, and in the middle of the year, at the invitation of Dolmatov, he came to Russia to play for Chernomorets .
Since 1999, he played for Rostselmash. Since 2001 works as a trainer.
