Miss Congeniality

As a child, the FBI agent Gracie Hart stood up for the boy who insulted her for this. She promised herself never to fall in love with boys, became manly and rude.

Having failed a special task, she receives a penalty and is transferred to paper work. Suddenly the case comes back to return to its former glory. Together with partner Eric Matthews, she takes up the investigation of a case in which she has to take part in a beauty contest .

Under the name of Gracie Lou Fribush, Miss New Jersey, Hart should infiltrate the contest. The legendary Victor Melling, the image maker who led a dozen beauties to the crown, invites her to become her curator and mentor. Through the efforts of stylists and makeup artists from an ignorant ugly character, the heroine Sandra Bullock is transformed into a luxurious lady.

Further, the plot takes on the color of a classic detective story . The heroine falls into an unknown and alien world of silly beauties. Clash of characters leads to a number of funny situations. Having passed the qualifying rounds, Gracie is among the finalists. Without losing hope of finding a criminal, she acquires new friends along the way. Gracie gradually realizes that the competition is not attended by “dumb-headed fools,” but by talented and interesting girls who want to succeed in life.

All this time, Eric Matthews has been relentlessly next to Gracie, providing her cover. Gradually, their relationship went beyond the boundaries of service.

The happy ending of the comedy is the performance of Gracie Hart in front of the contest participants. Girls are ready to accept the agent in their ranks. The authorities, evaluating the merits, returns the heroine to the service, rewards and promotes the rank. Eric and Grace start dating.

• Poems for one of the main musical compositions of the film Miss United States were written by screenwriter Mark Lawrence, and the tune was invented by his seven-year-old son Clyde.
