Dmitriev, Kirill Alexandrovich

In 1996, he graduated from Stanford University with the highest honors, receiving a bachelor 's degree in economics. In 2000, he received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School with highest honors (Baker Scholar).

In 1996-1999 he worked at the Goldman Sachs Investment Bank in New York and at the McKinsey & Company consulting company in Los Angeles , Moscow and Prague ^[1] .

In 2000-2002 - at IBS , until November 8, 2001 - Deputy General Director, and then until May 29, 2002 - Managing Director of the Management Consulting Department ^{[2] [3]} . In 2002-2007 he was first Director for investments in the Delta Private Equity Fund, then - Managing Director and Partner ^{[4] [5]} . In 2005-2006 - Chairman of the Russian Association of Direct and Venture Investments (RAVI) ^[6] .

In 2007-2011, he was Managing Partner and President of Icon Private Equity Private Equity Fund. He conducted a number of transactions that were significant for the Russian investment market: the sale of Delta Bank to General Electric, Delta Credit to Société Générale , STS Media shares to Fidelity Investments, and others.

In 2010, he was inscribed on the World Economic Forum in Davos ^[7] .

Since April 2011 - General Director of the Criminal Code of the Russian Direct Investment Fund . Under his leadership, RDIF implemented more than 70 projects with a total volume of over 1.4 trillion rubles, covering 95% of the regions of the Russian Federation and entered into strategic partnerships with leading international co-investors from more than 15 countries for a total of more than $ 40 billion ^[8] .

In 2011, he became the only Russian in the rating of "100 Most Influential Direct Investment Industry Professionals in the Last Decade" of Private Equity International ^[1] . Within the framework of the year of Russia's presidency of the G-20 (G20), he led the task group “Business Twenty” (B20) “Investments and Infrastructure”.

By presidential decree, Kirill Dmitriev was appointed one of the five members of the BRICS Business Council, as well as one of three members of the APEC Business Advisory Council.

He was elected vice president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs .

Member of the boards of directors of Rostelecom ^[9] , Gazprombank ^[10] , Mother and Child ^[11] , Russian Railways ^[12] , Transneft ^[13] and the Supervisory Board of Alrosa ^{[14] ]} . He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Moscow State University and the Mariinsky Theater .

On January 16, 2017, Dmitriev became the first representative of Russia to meet in Davos with an adviser to the elected president of the United States, Donald Trump, at the World Economic Forum in Swiss Davos ^[15] On June 22, CNN .com published a material linking Anthony Scaramucci and this I’ve met with investigations into the Russian Direct Investment Fund, but the next day the article was deleted because it “did not comply with the CNN editorial standards” ^[16] .

On November 30, 2017, the founder of the American private military company Blackwater, Eric Prince, said at a congressional hearing that he met Kirill Dmitriev in the Seychelles on January 11, 2017. This information was heard during Prince’s testimony to members of the intelligence committee of the U.S. House of Representatives during an investigation into Russia's potential interference in the 2016 US presidential election . According to anonymous sources in The Washington Post , the purpose of the meeting, mediated by the United Arab Emirates , was supposedly to establish a secret communication channel between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin . During the hearing, Prince denied this information, saying that he had not discussed with the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev any “communication channel” between the US and Russia ^{[17] [18]} .

In February 2019, Dmitriev was one of the first Russian top managers and businessmen who spoke in support and declared their readiness to vouch for the arrested head of the Baring Vostok Capital Partners fund, Michael Calvey, and other employees of the fund ^[19] . A few days after the arrest, Dmitriev sent petitions to the Moscow City Court, the Basmanny Court and the Investigative Committee to change the preventive measure for the arrested defendants in the Baring Vostok case for house arrest ^[20] . Subsequently, the Moscow Basmanny Court released Michael Calvey, founder of the Baring Vostok investment fund, under house arrest. ^[21]
