Farandola ( French: Farandole from Provence. Farandoulo ) - Provencal round dance folk dance . The dance performers, holding each other's hands, make up a chain that forms spiral and round figures to the accompaniment of a flute and tambourine . Music size : 2/4 and 6/8. The pace is fast, giving way to a slower one. Farandola was used in the works of J. Bizet , S. Gounod , A.K. Glazunov , P.I. Tchaikovsky and others.
