Career

Gonzalo Segares’s career began in the youth team of the Deportivo Saprissa club, then he moved to the USA , where he played for Virginia Commonwealth University , for 4 seasons he played 83 games and scored 16 goals, while he played for Williamsburg Legacy club in USL Pro League. He was one of the best NASS football players. In 2004, he became a finalist for the “Hermann Trophy” as the best student player of the year, and entered the symbolic team of all stars. After graduating from college, Segares was selected at number 35 on the 2005 Super Draft by the Chicago Fire Club, where he quickly became a club player. August 31, 2007, Segares played his first match for the Costa Rica national team against the national team of Honduras .

The overwhelming majority of his sports career - ten years old - Segares spent with the Chicago Fire Club MLS , for which he played in 231 matches, scoring 11 goals. February 4, 2015, Segares announced the completion of a player’s career. He continued his career with the Chicago Fire as a coach at the Youth Academy [2] .
